Foreign cruise liners have touched just one or two Indian ports but these have been few and remained the prerogative of the rich and the affluent. Launching the cruise line in Chennai, Dr J Ramachandran, Chairman, AMET Shipping India Private Limit ed, stated that it was the privilege of the group to pioneer tourism in the country.’’  AMET CRUISES is India’s first cruise line that seeks to introduce a new format of holiday, recreation and entertainment in the country…for the burgeoning urban middle class households’’ observed Dr. J Ramachandran.

Capt. Bhardwaj, Vice Chancellor, AMET University says, “This ship is certified to carry over 1000 passengers on  international voyage.” He is also very confident that  cruise tourism will accelerate holiday options for the middle class, who now view foreign holidays as viable and affordable.
